Thanksgiving

Today is Thanksgiving, a time where I am away from home this year, wish I could spent time with the parents but I will not be coming home this year. It is a time about sharing, giving, and spending quality time together and also eating tons of food.

Well, I am updating to let all those who read blogs know that we will be shooting a short sometime soon and will be releasing it before christmas. In the stages of writing and plotting, finding location, and getting equipment and booking actors/actresses for the roles. Look forward to it's release and check on some behind the scene photography of the short.

This Christmas will also be another time I will not be spending it with the parents but I might and will be traveling to the other family of mine. May it be in San Francisco or Las Vegas, at least its spending time together. Hope you have a good holiday weekend and don't fight to hard on Black Friday.

Happy Holidays,
Steven

Moving again...

one last time then LA. it's almost over, one last week in memphis, actually gonna be less than a week as I'm heading up to Knoxville to visit one last time. Indiememphis was just here so I hoped you checked it out and watched some independent movies from people all across the world at Malco's studio on the square. There were some great films like Memphis Movement: Urban Ballet and Children of Invention that I saw there. Got to meet some really cool people (directors, producers, and many film makers) Paranormal Activity was also shown early since its a film festival. One famous director in memphis is Craig Brewer who directed Hustle and Flow and Black Snake Moan. He is a pretty cool guy and does alot of stuff around memphis. Check out my pictures if you haven't already. Well I gtg. http://indiememphis.com I volunteered working it also. Till next time.

Steven out.

Birthday Week

Currently in Memphis. Celebrating my birthday this week with alot of food to eat. Sushi on monday, Chinese food on tuesday, Korean food on wednesday, and Italian food on thursday. It was good. I got a nice german chocolate cake injected with condensed milk with whipped cream icing and almonds....sooo good. I will be in Vegas next week for a little mini vacation followed by a wedding next saturday. One of my friends from back in the day is getting married. I still think I'm to young to even think about getting married. So I wish them alot of love and happiness.

Summer ending?!?

It's almost over, I will be moving from Knoxville to Memphis in about 2 weeks. What am I going to do? Well, there are new places to see, new things to accomplish, set some goals, go out, and snap away. And then a few months after that, I will plan on my next move, either to the hills of San Francisco or become the life of a hollywood drama.

What's on my mind.

So I guess this blog is not going to be all about photography, I am going to talk about my life since it is a blog and portfolio. I have recently moved most of my articles to this site since a few of my friends are on it, and it's easier to update. My old blog was here (it's mostly the same as this one). I tend to rant on about my life so if you like to listen, keep reading. We have been getting alot of requests from models to shoot with us. I have been trying to plan it out and shoot everyone but I don't think I have time to capture everyone's beauty. So I have to narrow some people down and choose who to shoot with. (I shouldn't of sent some messages to them). Summer time is about to end and we can shoot about 10 more models before mid-aug in which I am probably going to memphis to decide where to go next. I am probably thinking of moving back to California during the Fall, I need to actually find a job that pays, can't keep doing everything for free, but who knows, I wish I was like Eric on Entourage and have it made by having a friend like Vince. Well, it's time to end this post. I'll update more later.

life is good,
-steven

New Photography: Taking Pictures

I first started in digital with a rented SLR but I got my own after the Fall Garden series and then started taking better pictures with my fantastic plastic (50mm f/1.7). If I had some money, I would invest in some better lens like some good primes like the 85mm f/1.2 or a 135mm f/2 and shoot better pictures. It's a good thing I still do alot of experimenting with my pictures because I have not really adapted a style yet to take pictures, so every shoot I do is different. I guess I tend to "steal other photographers techniques" to learn from them. It is until I find something that is suited for me, then I'll adapt it to myself. In the meantime, take a look at a friend of mine who talks about photography.

Graduation

I have been thinking of what I would be doing during this summer. Of course, I would still continue taking pictures. I got a new wide angle lens on my 50mm and it is awesome. I still think photography is a hobby for me and not something I would get into. I am an artist says so in my degree so I shouldn't think like a photographer and do what my instincts tell me because I like it the way it is. Thus I like to continue to expand in any range I can so I can get better at what I like to do. Til then, I will continue to post up new pictures. Thanks and check out our marketing group..

New Projects

It's a start of a whole new year. I have several different projects in mind. What is it I want to start off with? I have been thinking about portrait shots and feel like I want to pursue it for a few months. I have also been working on a nice piece of work that took a few weeks to render. It is a mosaic picture of me and it consists of over 1500-2000 mini pictures that make up one big one. I guess I can say its the sum of the parts that is greater than the whole. Well, there is more to come and I will update this site with some new pictures soon as I get things rolling. Mosaic picture for view in link below.
